This paper discusses the following aspects of the thin film acousto-optic devices: 1. Waveguide structure of the characteristics of theoretical calculations; 2. may increase the efficiency and speed of the device structure; 3. film materials and production issues; 4. transducer efficiency and bandwidth Of the compromise; 5 thin film acoustic - optical devices and bulk acoustic - optical devices and thin-film electro-optical devices. The recent experimental results of thin film acousto-optic modulators and convolvers are also discussed.
