1949年2月3日,北平前门外大街上人山人海,欢声雷动,北平市民在这里欢迎人民的军队入城。在这欢迎的人群中,还有来自北平西郊清华大学和燕京大学(后并入北京大学)的学生队伍。在这支队伍中,我的父亲——时年26岁的燕京大学学生沈彭年也在其中。在此之前,党组织通过学生在燕京大学协助“海燕”和“燕剧社”两个学生剧团组成文艺宣传队,排练了东北大秧歌、“夫妻识字”小秧歌剧和革命歌曲,准备欢迎解放军。
