The forest is a gift of nature to mankind. Trees have a remarkable role in climate regulation, noise isolation, dust retention, air purification and water and soil conservation. However, since the twentieth century, the expansion of the world population and urban development have brought doom to forest trees. Large tracts of green have been occupied by steel and concrete. The lawn has become an asphalt road, and the utility poles have replaced trees. Acid rain caused by air pollution beams become the enemy of trees. Nostalgia for the Tree is a comic that reveals this worrying state. The portrait did not simply paint the city’s environmental problems. Instead, he arranged in the center of the picture a tree called “Orchids” by forest scientists. Behind the towering tall buildings was a bustling stream of traffic.
