高等院校法学院本科生法律英语课程的定位问题一直存在争议。本文认为,法律英语课程应当既区别于大学英语的教学,也不同于用英语讲授法律专业课程,更不同于用中文讲授法律专业课程。其次,本科生的法律英语课程设计必须体现出同硕士、博士研究生的差异,以不同目标学生的英语水平和法律功底为依据,并充分考虑不同的培养目标,从而进行准确的定位。
There is always controversy over the orientation of law English courses for undergraduates at the Law School of Higher Education. This article argues that legal English courses should be distinguished from the teaching of college English as well as the teaching of legal major in English, not to mention the teaching of legal major in Chinese. Secondly, the design of legal English course for undergraduates must reflect the difference between masters and Ph.D. students. Based on the different target students’ English proficiency and legal foundation, they should give full consideration to different training objectives so as to accurately locate them.
