清人笪重光云:虚实相生,无画处皆成妙境。中国的书法在章法、布局等方面经常利用大量的空白,这种“空景”,虽然眼睛看不见它的具体存在,但心灵可以感应到它的存在。就是这种形象之外的无象之形,才使人产生丰富的想像。把无形当有形,使虚实对立统一,使书法作品的内涵充实起来,让艺术空间得到无限的延伸,从而使作品充满跌宕和神秘的艺术表现力。
