This article describes a fully coherent transmitter designed for low-flying target detection and tracking radar. This article discusses the requirements of this important radar system and many factors related to transmitter design, prototype development, and measured performance. A new method to fabricate traveling wave tube and orthogonal field amplifier high voltage power equipment (HVPS) with power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (POWER MOSFETS) is also described.
