2001年诺贝尔经济学奖得主约瑟夫·斯蒂格利茨3月16日在香港中文大学主持讲座时 称,中国经济迅速增长对全球经济带来重大影响,相信中国的成功能促进全球经济繁荣与 稳定。 在题为“中国与全球经济:挑战、机遇与责任”的讲座中,斯蒂格利茨表示,加入世 界贸易组织为中国带来了机遇,包括开拓世界市场、资金与科技的流入等,但同时也意味 着中国要进行多方面的变革,例如提高国内生产力,使其银行及财金机构更切合市场经济。
Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, who chaired a lecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on March 16, said in 2001 that the rapid economic growth in China has had a significant impact on the global economy and believes that China’s success will promote global economic prosperity and stable. In a lecture entitled “China and the Global Economy: Challenges, Opportunities and Responsibilities ”, Stiglitz said that joining the World Trade Organization has brought opportunities to China, including developing the world market, capital and technology inflows, etc. But at the same time means that China needs to make various changes, such as raising domestic productivity and making its banking and financial institutions more market-oriented.
