危害白蜡虫的寄生蜂种类繁多,芷江县已发现23种。一年数代,对雌白蜡虫常造成毁灭性的灾害。1976年10月本县汪碧山蜡虫场96％的雌蜡虫被寄生蜂危害死亡。白蜡蚧长角象Anthribius lajievorus Chao(简称蜡象)平均每头幼虫食害白蜡虫卵1500粒以上,结茧化蛹又要损坏很多白蜡虫卵粒。因此,被蜡象寄生的白蜡虫种只能孵化很少的白蜡虫,甚至成了空壳,便白蜡虫种的产蜡量明显下降。1973年本县自产的白蜡虫种蜡象寄生率平均达82.9％。
