我作为中华人民共和国水利部考察组的一个成员,曾有机会到过黄河流域的许多地方。我们了解了土壤侵蚀的发展情况和水土保持工作中已经取得的巨大成绩。我们也不着特别大的兴趣了解了丰富的羣众经验和先进合作社、试验站的工作成就。世界上大概没有任何一个地方发展着象黄河流域这样严重的土壤侵蚀,也没有任何一个地方完成了象黄河流域目前所进行的这样巨大的水土保持工作。
As a member of the inspection team of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China, I had the opportunity to visit many places in the Yellow River Basin. We have learned about the development of soil erosion and the tremendous achievements we have made in soil and water conservation. We also do not have particularly great interest in understanding the rich mass experience and the achievements of advanced cooperatives and pilot stations. There is probably not a single place in the world that develops such a serious soil erosion as the Yellow River basin. Nor is there any place that has done such a tremendous amount of soil and water conservation as the Yellow River Basin is doing.
