A study by Harvard University researchers in Circulation, the official journal of the American Heart Association, said men who ate breakfast did have a higher risk of heart disease than those who regularly ate breakfast. Researchers conducted a 16-year follow-up study of the eating habits and overall health of nearly 27,000 men. During the study, 1,572 men suffered from heart disease. The study found that those who do not eat breakfast may also have unhealthy habits, including smoking, drinking, not exercising. They are 27% more likely to suffer from heart disease, 15% more likely to gain weight, and 21% more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.
