This article describes a shear wave generator that can operate at any depth in the well. This generator consists of an energy and electrode arrangement, which consists of a stainless steel tube with a small slit along the generatrix and a pair of discharge electrodes. Between the electrodes, the use of high-voltage discharge can produce a pulse force, it can pass through the slit on the steel pipe to the wall. This impulsive force is the horizontal single force superimposed on the center of expansive force. The wave energy generated by the center of expansion force can be dampened by the shock absorber wrapped around the slit of the steel tube. The horizontal single-shot radiation is effectively SH wave, which can be received by the transverse wave detector in the direction perpendicular to the slit .
