陈裕时(1877-1940),原名陈裕大,字元伯,皈依佛门后, 法号元白,湖北宜昌三斗坪人。陈在汉阳兵工厂工防营当兵时, 被送到湖北武备学堂读书,因读《鉴略》颖悟过人,受到张之洞的重视,被送往日本深造。1903年8月,26岁的陈裕时到达东京, 进入振武陆军士官学堂学习,因在校阅读、宣传革命书刊被开除学籍,继而转学法政。后结识孙中山与黄兴,与同为宜昌人的黄恺元、高冈、全敬存、陈吉甫、杨征祥等一道入同盟会。32岁回国, 与蔡锷、赵恒惕、唐继尧去广西,担任龙州讲武堂监督兼龙州新军邑龙统带一职。
Chen Yu-shih (1877-1940), formerly known as Chen Yu-big, character Yuan Bo, converted to Buddhism, the French Yuan Yuan white, Hubei Yichang Sandou Ping people. He was expelled from the school for reading and propagating revolutionary books and then transferred to law and order. After getting to know Sun Yat-sen and Huang Xing, and with the Yichang Huang Kaiyuan, Takaoka, full respect deposit, Chen Jifu, Yang Zhengxiang, etc. into the League. At the age of 32, he went back to China with Cai Yong, Zhao Hengtii and Tang Jiyao as governors in Longzhou and Longjun New Army Army of Longzhou.
