China International Engineering Consulting has completed the latest design of the Barderna Dam, a major part of the hydroelectric project in Bardelena, Somalia, a 57-meter-high dam located in the middle of the Juba River in Somalia, The largest dam, Barderna, has an installed capacity of 140,000 KW and will provide irrigation water for 175,000 acres of farmland. Bardelena was rebuilt on January 4, 1988 in Mogadishu, Somalia The design contract for the dam, estimated by China International Engineering Consulting Corporation to be 100 million U.S. dollars (US $ 7 million lower than estimated by the Consultative Group of Italy and originally from Somalia).
