DGS-I型多光谱扫描仪是一种小型多功能的机载传感器,可在0.35~14μm范围内取得探测对象的各分光谱的辐射和反射图象数据。扫描仪共分两大部分:机载部分主要由扫描头部、控制系统、信息处理系统、模拟磁带机和实时显示五大部分组成;地面处理系统主要由模拟量运算和回放(黑白、彩色)装置组成。仪器的主光学系统采用光机扫描方式,扫描镜采用四方棱镜,为典型的Ritchey-Chretion反射系统。四方棱镜扫描系统有它独特的优点,例如对地物扫描过程中,象是不旋转的,因而可以采用多元串扫或并扫新技术,由于有二倍角关系提高了时间轴利用率,即压缩了电子通频带。
