“东北东线游”是指以大连—丹东—宽甸—桓仁—长白山—镜泊湖—牡丹江—哈尔滨为主干线,以大连、沈阳、长春、哈尔滨为主要进出口岸,覆盖周边10多个城市和景区,多个相互连通的旅游圈而形成的旅游线路。这条线路以生态和民俗旅游为主题,拥有滨海风光、林海雪原、火山地貌、湖泊瀑布、溶洞温泉、森林浴场等高品级的自然资源。中国台湾地区和韩国的旅行商考察了该线路之后,曾给予了高度评价,认为这一线路可与欧洲的生态旅游线路相媲美,很有推广价值。
