OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of optimizing quality management procedures on reducing hospital-acquired hospital infection. Methods: The First People’s Hospital of Hangzhou started to optimize the quality management procedures of venous configuration center since April 2013, and compared the incidence of hospital infection, configuration error, antibiotic use and patient satisfaction before and after the implementation. Results: The rate of occurrence of hospital infection and configuration error after intravenous distribution center optimization was significantly lower than that before implementation, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The abuse of antibiotics was significantly lower than before (the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). After the implementation of the patient’s satisfaction was significantly improved compared with the previous, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Optimizing quality management processes can effectively reduce nosocomial infections at the venous center and reduce the incidence of abuse and misconfiguration of antibiotics.
