容闳是我国留学史上的先驱人物,最先提出派遣幼童计划,并达成所愿,成功派出历史上中国第一批留美学生,为我国的留学事业做出了颇多贡献。在他的经历中成功与失败并存,矢志不渝,值得称颂。他的成功受到了很多人的追捧,被尊为“中国留学生之父”。他的失败往往归结于封建势力的顽固守旧,本文试图从他的中国文化素养上分析他的失败原因。 Rong was the forerunner in the history of studying in China. He first proposed the plan to send young children and fulfilled his wishes. It successfully sent the first batch of Chinese students studying in the United States in history and made a lot of contributions to the study abroad in our country. In his experience, success and failure co-exist, unswervingly, it is commendable. His success has been sought after by many people and is regarded as “the father of Chinese students.” His failure often comes down to the stubbornness of the feudal forces. This article attempts to analyze his reasons for the failure from his Chinese cultural accomplishments.
