日本的森林面积为2,520万公顷,占全国面积的68%,其中天然林为1,620万公顷,人工林为700多万公顷,竹林约为20万公顷。全国有400多种珍贵的木本树种,如日本赤松、柳杉、扁柏、远东冷杉、鱼鳞松、日本落叶松、橡树、山毛榉、白蜡、杨树等。天然林中阔叶树种占优势,人工林中则相反,主要为针叶树种——柳杉、扁柏、日本落叶松、日本赤松、日本黑松、鱼鳞松和远东冷杉。
Japan’s forest area is 25.2 million hectares, accounting for 68% of the national area, of which 16.2 million hectares are natural forests, more than 7 million hectares of plantations and about 200,000 hectares of bamboo forests. The country has more than 400 kinds of precious woody species, such as Japanese red pine, cedar, cypress, fescue, Scales pine, Japanese larch, oak, beech, ash, poplar and so on. The broad-leaved species dominated in natural forests, while the coniferous species in coniferous forests were mainly coniferous species-Cryptomeria, Japanese cypress, Japanese larch, Japanese red pine, Japanese black pine, Scots pine and Far Eastern fir.
