作为“九省通衢”、“南北枢纽”的华中重镇,武汉在军事上具有扼险控要的重要地位,推翻二千多年封建帝制的辛亥革命也是从武汉开始改变中国历史的行程,武汉因此被称为辛亥革命的首义之地。
