The effective preparation for long-distance runners depends mainly on the reasonable arrangements for the training year cycle and is based on the following plans: 1. The preparation period (November-May, 28-30 weeks). It is divided into four phases: - the preparatory phase (end of October - November); - the first basic training phase (December - January);
