Kaufman HE graduated with honors in Princeton University and Harvard Medical School early. It took another two years to study ophthalmology at the National Institutes of Health and in 1962 at the Eye and Ear Hospital in Massachusetts completed the advanced ophthalmology practice after graduation. After leaving the province, he became a new eye at the University of Florida Medical School
