红花草绿肥是农业生产上一项主要肥料。为了进一步提高红花草产量,根据“九二○”植物生长刺激素在许多农作物上表现出能促进植株生长和根瘤作物需要较多的磷钾肥的特点,我们在一九七五年三月二十一日红花草始花期,进行了喷施“九二○”和施磷肥对比试验,获得了显著的增产效果。在一块红花草田里,取一边面积0.32亩喷“九二○”,一边0.2亩不喷,“九二○”用量为1克兑清水67斤,结果喷“九二○”的亩产鲜草2930斤,比不喷的亩产2600斤增产12.6%。在另一块红花草田里,取一边面积0.45亩施磷,一边0.21亩不施,磷肥用量为每亩过磷酸钙7斤兑清水100斤泼施,结果施磷肥的亩产鲜草2910斤,比不施的亩产2310斤增产20.3%。
