船舶责任保险是海上保险的一种,它产生于海上保险之后,是脱胎于传统的填补损害的保险机制而逐步发展起来的海上保险的新险种,在国际上已有150年以上的历史。此险种属于财产保险范畴,保险标的仅限于作为被保险人的船舶所有人或船舶经营人依法应当对第三人承担的赔偿责任。
Ship liability insurance is a kind of marine insurance. It originated from marine insurance. It is a new marine insurance gradually developed from the traditional insurance mechanism of damage compensation. It has a history of more than 150 years in the world. This insurance belongs to the category of property insurance, the subject of insurance is limited to the insured shipowners or ship operators should be liable to third parties in accordance with the law.
