我的故乡是越剧的发源牠,产生了好些越剧名演員。至于越剧演員人数之众多,那就更不必說了。这自然要归功于社会的支持,和演員們自己的努力。但有一点却也不能忘記,那就是越剧傳統的影响。大概从我有知識的时候起,每年春节,就有一些拿着綽板、篤鼓的小歌佬,跨进人家的堂前,来一次短短的清唱,唱唱小方卿見姑娘,唱唱何文秀鋪牙牌,从初二唱起,一直唱到灯节为止。唱的內容,大抵就是这几个有限的故事,但人們还是要听。
