金薄香3号是我们从新疆引入的优良薄壳核桃种核中实生选出的核桃新品种。果实圆形,外苞绿色,青皮表面密生细柔毛,果点明显;坚果圆形,平均单果重11.2g,缝合线突起明显,结合紧密,中部两侧有耳形凹;壳厚1.20mm,横隔膜膜质;易取整仁,单仁重6.3g,核仁充实饱满,内果皮淡黄色,果仁乳白色,肉质细、脆,香味浓,品质上等,出仁率56.20%;每平方米树冠垂直投影面积产仁0.20kg;在山西省中部地区,果实9月上、中旬成熟。2007年12月通过山西省林木品种审定委员会审定。
