东南大学四牌楼校区是中国现代高等师范艺术教育的发祥地。中国近现代高等师范艺术教育始于1903年三江师范学堂图画手工选科,独立于1906年两江优级师范学堂图画手工专修科。辛亥革命以后,1916年在两江师范学堂原址建南京高等师范学校设工艺专修科,为民国师范艺术教育之始。国立东南大学时期工艺专修科独立,成立江苏省立第四师范学校附设艺术专修科,后并入第四中山大学。1928年建立国立中央大学,教育学院设艺术教育专修科。1938年成立师范学院定名艺术学系。新中国建立以后改名南京大学,1952年全国院系调整,艺术学系转入南京师范学院为美术系。考察百年师范艺术教育沿革,可以看出从图画手工教育到美术教育,从美术教育到艺术理论教育的变化轨迹。
Sipailou Campus of Southeast University is the birthplace of China’s modern higher normal art education. China’s modern higher normal art education began in 1903 Sanjiang Normal School drawing hand-selected subjects, independent of the 1906 Liangjiang Excellent Teachers College drawing manual subjects. After the revolution of 1911, Nanjing Normal College was established at the site of Liangjiang Normal School in 1916 to set up a special course of arts and crafts for the beginning of the art education of the Republic of China. During the period of National Southeast University, the craft specialty was independent, and the 4th Provincial Normal School attached to Jiangsu Province was enrolled in the Art Training Department, which was then incorporated into the fourth Zhongshan University. In 1928 the establishment of the National Central University, Institute of Education set art education specialist. 1938 Teachers College established the Department of Art. After the founding of New China, it was renamed as Nanjing University. In 1952, the departments of the whole country were adjusted. The department of art was transferred to Nanjing Normal University as the art department. A study of the evolution of century-old art education shows that the change trajectory from art education to art education from art education to art theory education can be seen.
