翻译不仅仅是两种语言的转换,更是两种不同文化的交流和碰撞。在翻译活动中文化缺省是经常遇到的一种文化现象,由于交际双方之间社会背景的不同和文化知识的存在,文化缺省就成为跨文化翻译的一种障碍,因此,在翻译活动中译者对于文化缺省问题的解决就显得尤为重要,处理不好就会造成文化缺省现象,影响目的语读者对源文语篇的解读。本文主要分析外宣翻译中由于文化缺省导致的三大翻译失误。第一种是不符合英语语言规范;第二种是信息缺省和信息误导;第三种是违背西方目的语受众接受心理。
Translation is not just the conversion of two languages, but also the exchange and collision of two different cultures. Cultural default is a kind of cultural phenomenon often encountered in translation activities. Due to the different social backgrounds and cultural knowledge between the two parties, cultural default becomes an obstacle to intercultural translation. Therefore, in translation activities The translator’s solution to the problem of cultural default is particularly important. If not properly handled, the cultural default will be caused, which will affect the target readers’ interpretation of the source text. This article mainly analyzes the three major translation mistakes caused by the cultural default in foreign propaganda translation. The first is not in line with the English language norms; the second is the default information and misleading information; the third is contrary to the Western target audience to accept psychology.
