调制是通信系统中的重要技术之一。结合建立相干光通信系统这一课题,在吴彝尊副教授的指导下,我选择了制作Ti:LiNbO_3光波导行波相位调制器为论文研究内容。目前国内尚无相位调制器的研制报道。器件采用外调制型,因为外调制具有这样一些显著的优点:(i)它对激光光源无要求,不象内调制那样,只能适用于注入式半导体激光器;(ii)由于外调制与光源是独立的,故对光源性能影响小;(iii)具有高的带宽。我们与兄弟单位协助。
Modulation is one of the important technologies in communication systems. Combined with the issue of establishing a coherent optical communication system, under the guidance of Associate Professor Wu Yizun, I chose to make Ti: LiNbO_3 optical waveguide traveling-wave phase modulator for the thesis. At present, there is no report on the development of phase modulator. The external modulation of the device is used because the external modulation has some notable advantages: (i) it has no requirement for a laser source, unlike in-system modulation, only for an implanted semiconductor laser; (ii) due to external modulation and light source being Independent, so the light source performance is small; (iii) has a high bandwidth. We work with our brothers.
