“化学世界”发刊以来,许多读者不断的来信表示,都想要做一种或几种商品的实验。这种表示说明他们对於化学实验具有兴趣和需要。但是做化学实验需先有相当的化学基础的,从这许多读者的来信看来,当然不能担保都已备具此种条件,所以要写能为一般适用的实验材料,不免有相当困难。现在这个月刊已从第二卷第一期起连续刊载基本化学讲座,这对於各位的基本化学知识已有了一个自习和补充的机会,所以从这期起也决定连续刊载实验指导。这里边的材料当然是逐期不同的,吾们将尽力使采取的材料能切合实际和需要,吾们希望有志之士,确能依照每期所述,切实去做,同时参考别的专门书籍,努力进修。吾们可以说每种实验对於个人的学识和事业都可有很大的帮助,只要能认真的学,认真的做。举例说罢,苦杏仁油是一种很繁销的香料,吾们研究它的制法,其中就包含许多重要的学理和技术。吾们如果实验成功,再进而做工业的试验,不是就成为自已创业的基础麽?总之,吾们对於有志学习化学和有志从事化学工业的人,虽具深厚的同情,但是成功与否总要靠自己的努力。在这里还要补充,如果是没有学过化学,而想从事实验的,最好先看本刊第一卷第一期至第五期刊载的“化学工业试验常识”一文。只是基本的化学知识总是重要的,所以同时不可不看有关学理方面的材料。 Since the publication of Chemical World, many readers have kept letters saying they all want to experiment with one or more commodities.
