和所有老一辈地质学家一样,一提起丁文江,高振西先生便肃然起敬。他曾经不止一次地说:丁文江是一位很有组织才能的地质学家,中国地质事业的开创,他应该得头功。在如今还健在的地质学家中,高先生可以说是和丁文江接触最多的人了。1931年,高先生24岁,风华正茂。这年他在北京大学地质系毕业了,被留在母校担任助教。正好这一年,在社会上担任过多种重要职务,名噪一时,誉满中华的地质学家丁文江,辞去了一切职务,而应北京大学校长蒋梦麟之聘,受任北京大学地质系研究教授。
Like all older geologists, Mr. Ding Wenjiang mentioned Mr. Gao Zhenxi very much. He has said more than once: Ding Wenjiang is a well-organized geologist, and he deserved a great start in pioneering the geology of China. Among the geologists still alive today, Mr. Gao can be said to have had the most contact with Ding Wenjiang. In 1931, Mr. Gao was 24 years old and prosperous. This year he graduated from Peking University Department of Geology, was left in his alma mater as teaching assistant.
