人物背景郭爱莲，女，今年37岁，大专学历。她1985年参加税务工作，从事过内勤、出纳、专管员、电脑操作员。1997年入党，同年参加全市国税系统中层干部竞争上岗后，任福州市台江区国税局征收分局副局长。十几年来，郭爱莲同志不论在什么岗位上，都能兢兢业业、勤勤恳恳做好本职工作。她坚决执行党的路线、方针、政策，坚持改革开放，模范遵守国家的法律、法令，热爱税务事业，秉公执法，廉洁奉公，在征收窗口的平凡岗位上做出不平凡的工作业绩。福州市台江区委、区政府和3200家企业及数千名纳税人自发地推荐她为“最佳税务员”，省、市先后授予她“三八红旗手”、“五一劳动奖章”、“先进工作者”、“十佳税官”、“优秀公务员”、“行业巾帼标兵”、福州市“十大杰出青年”等荣誉称号，本刊和《中国税务报》、《福州晚报》在显要位置专门报道过她的感人事迹。1998年4月台江区委、区政府授予她“人民满意的税务员”荣誉称号，并号召全区掀起学习郭爱莲的热潮。最近，她被全国妇联、国家税务总局授予“中国十大杰出女税务工作者”的光荣称号。福建省妇联、省国家税务局联合发出了向郭爱莲同志学习的通知。
