《邓小平文选(1938—1965年)》是小平同志在新民主主义革命时期、社会主义革命和建设时期的著作,其中的许多思想至今已成为建设有中国特色社会主义理论的重要组成部分。外文出版社于1992年推出了中共中央马恩列斯著作编译局集体翻译的该书英译本SELECTED WORKS OF DENG XIAOPING(1938～1965)。这是一件为翻译界所瞩目的大事。作为一名翻译工作者,笔者在将其与人民出版社1989年出版的中文原著对照研读后,十分赞赏译者在词汇、句式、修辞手法及习语几方面的精当处理。
“Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping (1938-1965)” is a book written by Comrade Xiaoping during the period of the new-democratic revolution and socialist revolution and construction. Many of these ideas have so far become an important part of the theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. Foreign Languages Press published the English translation of the book jointly translated by the Compiling Bureau of the Central Commission of Marienzees in 1992. This is a major event for the translation community. As a translator, after studying with the original Chinese version published by People’s Publishing House in 1989, the author greatly appreciates the translator’s careful handling of vocabulary, sentence patterns, rhetorical devices and idioms.
