Objective To understand the sanitary status of drinking water in Linfen City during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” and provide a scientific basis for the government and decision-making of agriculture, water conservancy and health administrations. Methods The water quality testing was carried out according to the provisions of “Sanitary Standard for Domestic Drinking Water” (GB5749-2006), and statistical data of monitoring data of drinking water projects in the city from 2011 to 2015 were collected for statistical analysis. All remaining indicators without disinfection indicators were qualified as Judgment criteria to determine the water quality standards. Results The overall qualified rate of drinking water engineering in Linfen City during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period was 50.7%, the pass rate in dry season was 54.6% and the pass rate in wet season was 47.0%, with significant difference (χ2 = 20.572, P <0.05 ). The qualified rate of ex-factory water was 48.6% and the qualified rate of peripheral water was 51.8%. There was no significant difference (χ2 = 3.474, P> 0.05). In 2014-2015, the passing rate of urban water was 78.3%, and that of rural water was 48.0%. The difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 137.141, P <0.05). Statistics of unqualified water samples exceeded the standard for the majority of microbial indicators and total hardness. Conclusion Linfen City, drinking water projects still exist hidden dangers, should take appropriate measures to build water supply projects to improve water treatment facilities, establish a water quality as the core of the quality management system to further strengthen the construction of drinking water safety and supervision and testing to ensure that residents Safe drinking water.
