1944年9月,纳粹德国正式将Me262作为战斗机投入空战。作为世界上第一架投入实战的喷气式战斗机,只要不与对手缠斗,Me 262可以凭借速度优势一击即走,让盟军战斗机一时束手无策。但是,该机也有不少问题。比如,在起飞降落的低速阶段飞行稳定性差、操纵困难、增速慢,特别是在燃料即将耗尽甚至带伤返场时更是如此。盟军很快发现了这点,用航程远、飞行性能好的P-51“野马”战斗机组成游猎小队,在德军喷气式战斗机的前线机场附近待机,伺机伏击返航的Me 262战斗机。
In September 1944, Nazi Germany formally put Me262 as a fighter jet into air combat. As the world’s first jet fighter to hit combat, as long as it does not fight with its rivals, the Me 262 can get away with a speed advantage and keep the Allied fighters at a loss. However, the aircraft also has many problems. For example, poor stability at low speeds during takeoff and landing, maneuvering difficulties, slow growth, especially as the fuel is running out and even injured. The Allies quickly spotted this and formed a safari squad with P-51 Mustang fighters with good range and good flight performance. They stood by the front of the German jet fighters and await ambushes to fly Me 262 fighters.
