There was once a “Monday work” problem that plagued office workers. Now, a U.S. study has shown that the first week of the month may be even worse. The researchers found that the number of deaths in the United States at the beginning of each month will increase. The researchers pointed out that the increase in the death toll may be related to the monthly release of government relief money. The study was organized by researchers at the University of California, San Diego. Researchers conducted computer-based information on all death records in the United States from 1973 to 1988. They compared the number of deaths in the first week of each month to the number of deaths in the last week of the previous month. Death records show that the average number of deaths per day is about 5,500, that is, about 165,000 people die each month (30 days). The researchers found that in the average year, the number of deaths in the first week of the month was about more than the number of deaths in the last week.
