nm23-H 1 is a gene that inhibits metastasis, and its expression is negatively correlated with the metastasis and prognosis of some malignant tumors. The metastasis of colorectal cancer is associated with the loss or mutation of the nm23-H1 gene. This study examined the nm23-H1 immune response in surgically resected primary colorectal cancer specimens to determine whether the expression of nm23-H1 is related to tumor grade, staging, and lymph node metastasis. From 1991 to 1993, 100 patients with primary colorectal cancer who had been admitted to the hospital had undergone radical surgery and removed all regional lymph nodes. According to the standards of the World Health Organization and the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), tumor classification, classification, and staging were determined. An average of 21 lymph nodes were examined for each patient.
