Language learning is for better communication between people. However, for people of different cultural backgrounds, there are also differences in the rules for the use of speech due to cultural and social norms. In intercultural communication, people often do not have enough understanding of the differences in the rules of speech use that must be obeyed when they use language. Therefore, both parties take their own pragmatic rules as the principle of communication and understand each other’s speech acts. Most developed countries in the world today are native speakers of English. It is therefore necessary for people to learn their advanced culture, knowledge and skills. This article hopes to achieve a better communication through study and study of the appellation differences between China and the West from a cultural perspective.
