12.3 Natural Light 12.3.1 Sunlight The natural light comes mainly from the sun during the daytime. The solar constant (ie, the irradiance of the sun outside the Earth’s atmosphere) is taken as 1353 W / m 2 [28]. For the other radiances and photometric characteristics of sunlight, see Section 5.3. Nighttime, atmospheric scattered light and moon reflected light are the main sources of natural light. In the no-moon night, stars and various atmospheric effects may become the main source of light.
