北美自由贸易协定(NAFTA)为冷战时期后最大的自由贸易区域。本文介绍了NAFTA产生的背景,评价了NAFTA蕴含的战略思想和理论及其在世界贸易体系的地位。在详细叙述了NAFTA有关纺织品及成衣条款,并讨论NAFTA成员国的利益平衡的基础上,分析了NAFTA对亚洲成衣工业出口与发展的影响,提出了相应的对策。
North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is the largest free trade area after the Cold War. This paper introduces the background of NAFTA and evaluates the strategic thinking and theory contained in NAFTA and its status in the world trading system. Based on a detailed description of NAFTA’s article on textiles and clothing, and on the balance of interests of NAFTA member countries, the paper analyzes the impact of NAFTA on the garment industry in Asia and its countermeasures.
