Baculovirus is a kind of arthropod-specific pathogenic microorganisms. Its main hosts are Lepidoptera, Diptera and Hymenoptera. In nature, the baculovirus establishes an infection in its host by means of oral infection, where the baculovirus plays an important role in the oral infection of the factor. This review reviews the basic characteristics of baculoviruses and illustrates the evolutionary necessity of the baculovirus in establishing oral infections and the major events in the process, including the evolution of the oral infection of baculoviruses, Microvilli cells, such as binding and fusion, and highlight the identification of baculovirus oral infection factors and functional studies. These studies have important guiding significance for human understanding and utilization of baculovirus for biological control and foreign gene expression.
