In recent years, some foreign scholars have suggested that humans will be able to control dental caries by the end of this century and predict that dental caries will eventually be eradicated from humans like other diseases. The December 20, 1983 issue of The New York Times quoted Harald Loe, dean of the National Institute of Dental Medicine and internationally renowned dentist as saying: “As a pioneering human history, we are witnessing the development of dental caries Rate of decline ”, also pointed out that“ in the end of this century, loss of teeth will be rare. ” The reason is the adoption of comprehensive preventive measures, the most important of which is fluoridated drinking water. In Michigan, USA, fluorinated drinking water has been listed as a research project since 1945. Since then, New York State has also been applied. The process accelerated after 1960 and has led to a dramatic decline in the incidence of dental caries among young people.
