As a category of aesthetics, Thesublime is often understood relative to “beautiful” or “beautiful.” However, when discussing the lofty sense of the tragedy, we should not just regard it as the aesthetic experience, but should put it in the humanity level such as the value orientation and moral concept that the tragic figure strives for and sacrifices. This article intends to explore the different human nature and different artistic appeal of the two cultures from the perspective of national culture psychology produced by the tragedies of the ancient Greece and China in the Yuan Dynasty. It shows that the former belongs to the sublime of reason, while the latter is the sublime of sensibility.
