近些年来,随着中国对外开放政策不断向纵深发展,国内英语类图书无论在品种上还是数量上都得到了空前的发展,形成了一个出版热点。并且可以预见,中国“入世”后英语类图书的出版会再度掀起热潮。然而,令人遗憾的是,在笔者(英语编辑)多年审读、加工英语类图书的过程中,发现目前英文书刊中一些标点符号的使用却是五花八门、混乱不堪,错用现象比较严重,影响了英文书刊的质量。现将笔者在审稿加工中发现的一些典型的英语标点符号错用情况进行总结归纳,并予矫正例析,与业内同行共同讨论,希望能对同行以及著译者有所启发。
