愚公故里,王屋山麓的曲阳湖畔,矗立着一座优质高中——济源市第六中学。学校始建于1956年,现占地70余亩,建筑面积17490平方米,系10轨制普通高中。学校图书馆、阅览室、微机室、实验室、餐厅以及标准运动场地等硬件设施一应俱全,现有30个教学班、1982名在校生和128名教职工,其中中、高级教师52人,省市学科带头人、骨干教师26人。50余年来,该校为社会培养了数以万计的高素质人才,可谓桃李芬芳,泽被社会。
