美国、加拿大社区学院是两国高等教育的重要组成部分，它直接为社区政治、经济、社会发展及人们多种需要服务，发挥了其他教育所不可替代的作用，并为两国社会做出了巨大贡献。它具有办学的开放性，学费的低廉性，办学功能的多样性，课程开设的适应性，体制的保证和教育经费的稳定性等特点。尽管社会制度不同，但两国社区学院建设的成功经验还是非常值得我们学习、借鉴的。
The community colleges of the United States and Canada are important components of higher education in both countries. They directly serve the political, economic and social development of the community and serve the diverse needs of the people. They have played an irreplaceable role in other education and have made huge contribution. It has the openness of running a school, the low cost of tuition, the diversity of running a school, the adaptability of a course, the guarantee of the system and the stability of the educational funds. Despite the differences in social systems, the successful experiences in building community colleges in both countries still deserve our learning and reference.
