Many people know that Jinzhou is relying on the famous phrase in the “Selected Works of Mao Zedong”: “The apple in Jinzhou was...” Many people know Jinzhou because it is the throat between the northeast and north China. However, only knowing the important role played by Jinzhou in history and war, and knowing Jinzhou’s unique geographical advantages, it is not enough to know Jinzhou’s abundance of agricultural and sideline seafood and natural resources. In 1985, Jinzhou was listed as a Class A open city by the state. In 1988, it was approved by the State Council as a city opening to the outside world. The driving force for reform and the development of an export-oriented economy made Jinzhou this historical name.
