液静挤压从开始研究至今已有20多年了,最近几年来进行了以工业生产为目的的工艺和设备的研制。目前,冷液静挤压已用于复合材料、特殊合金等线材的加工,在日本已有数台这种压力机已在使用。由于各种金属材料在高温下变形抗力降低、延性增大,所以在作高温挤压时,如能充分利用冷液静挤压的优点,就能胜过原来的无润滑挤压和润滑挤压。高温液静挤压就是在这种情况下开始研制的。目前在500℃左右的温度范围内已经用于工业生产。在工业生产上高温液静挤压可用于下述的范围。
