Objective To study the effect of medroxyprogesterone on body weight loss,myelosuppression,anorexia and quality of life(QOL)in patients with advanced neoplasm.Method37patients in group Areceived 200mg domestic medroxyprogesterone capsule,three times a day for 4consecutive weeks.37patients in group B received 500mg tablet of import medroxyprogesterone,once a day for 4consecutive weeks.Result Therapeutic effect of domestic and i mport medroxyprogesterone was simi lar of group Aand B in terms of anoxia,body weight loss,QOL(P >0.05).Side effects included abnormal liv er function,edema,and moon shaped f ace.Conclusion Medroxyprogesterone belongs to sup-portive therapy for patients with advanced tumor,which can improve QOL.Therapeutic effect of middle-dose medroxyprogesterone is satisfying.
