中国的基础科学研究,30多年间曾经几度起落,近十年来虽有明显发展成就,但各方面有识之士在严峻的现实面前总有一种强烈的危机感。2月中旬,在北京举行的全国基础研究工作会议上,许多科学家和科技部门负责人疾呼:基础性研究是新技术、新发明的先导和源泉,绝非“远水不解近渴”,要防止对“科学面向经济”作狭隘的理解,确保基础研究持续稳定地发展。 Basic scientific research in China has taken off and landing several times in more than 30 years. Although remarkable progress has been made in the past decade, there is always a strong sense of crisis among the people of all walks of life in the face of harsh realities. In mid-February, at a national basic research conference held in Beijing, many scientists and science and technology department chiefs shouted: Basic research is the precursor and source of new technologies and new inventions. We must prevent a narrow understanding of “science-oriented economy” and ensure the sustained and steady development of basic research.
