Objective To investigate the method and clinical efficacy of bioabsorbable bone rods in the treatment of radial head fractures in children. Methods From July 2010 to December 2013, 16 children with radial head fractures were treated with self-reinforced absorbable rods and their surgical methods, fracture healing and functional recovery were analyzed retrospectively. Results The group of 16 patients were followed up for 6 months to 2 years with an average of 12 months. According to Metaizeau elbow joint function of late efficacy evaluation of efficacy, good in 10 cases, better in 6 cases. X-ray showed fracture healing well, the development of radial small head normal, no radial head necrosis occurred and delayed union, no elbow valgus and wrist ulnar deviation, postoperative fracture re-displacement occurred. Conclusion For children with obvious displacement requiring surgical incision, the radial head fractures are fixed with absorbable sticks. It has the advantages of simple operation, small trauma, exact fixation, fast fracture healing, early elbow joint functional exercise and avoidance of secondary surgical removal And other advantages, is an effective treatment for children with radial head fractures.
